Around 61 percent of Alberta is forested.

The majority of this forested land is in the vast Boreal Forest Natural Region, with an additional strip of forested land running down the Eastern Slopes of the Rocky Mountains, in the Rocky Mountain and Foothills Natural Regions.

There is an urgent need to engage people with nature. All aspects of it. Not just the pretty bears and cute snakes. Also the realities of it, the death, struggles, and pain. Not only are people losing touch with nature, they are losing touch with the realities of nature.
