AWA’s prestigious Wilderness and Wildlife Defenders Award was presented to Dene Tha’ Chief James Ahnassay on February 22, 2021 as part 3 of 3 evenings making up the 22nd Martha Kostuch Annual Wilderness and Wildlife Defender Lecture.
The evening’s program, a conversation with Chief James Ahnassay and Cliff Wallis and a presentation and video of Bistcho Lake by Matt Munson provided attendees with tremendous first hand insight into caribou, the Hay-Zama Wildland – an International Ramsar Site, and Bistcho (Mbecho) Lake.
