AWA Wilderness & Wildlife Defenders: Help Make Govenlock a New NWA

June 27, 2013

In April 2012, the Government of Canada announced the divestiture of the former PFRA community pastures – strongholds for many of Canada’s prairie species at risk including the Greater Sage-grouse. Only one of the community pastures is federal land. The Govenlock Community Pasture is part of an Important Bird Area and contains critical habitat for sage-grouse. We need your help to convince the Government of Canada to establish the Govenlock Pasture as a National Wildlife Area under the management of Environment Canada.

I love bears and the wildlands where they live. Bears have fascinated me, scared me ‘til my heart pounded, and inspired me… They have helped me to learn about the diversity of life on earth and how nature works.
