A massive wildfire destroyed a large part of the Jasper townsite in the summer of 2024. Author Beth Everest’s family home was among the buildings destroyed by the fire.

A professor of creative writing, Beth had just completed a book of fictionalized stories based loosely on the people who lived and worked in Jasper National Park in its
early days. To help her fellow Jasperites, Beth has dedicated this book to them, and all proceeds from the sale of her book will be donated to the Jasper Community Team Society, through the Banff-Canmore Foundation’s Rocky Mountain Community Relief Fund.
