Federal Report: Unprotected Critical Habitat for Canada’s Boreal Woodland Caribou

April 30, 2018

The Canadian government has released the first report under section 63 of the Species at Risk Act (SARA), updating the public on at-risk species protection as required by that law. Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) found that, outside of some protected areas, provinces and territories have failed to protect almost all of boreal caribou critical habitat.
