Bird Checklist of Banff National Park

September 13, 2023

In 2022, Parks Canada released an updated bird checklist, compiled by Jason Rogers, of species recorded in Banff National Park:

“Banff is great for bird watching. The park is located in a region where natural factors, including terrain and climate, create appealing habitats and breeding areas for many different types of birds. To date, 315 bird species have been observed in the park.”

The checklist can be found here.

A healthy relationship to the wilderness is not in the least incompatible with civilized living. Indeed, I believe it to be an indispensable condition thereof; that no man is truly civilized unless he is involved in and cares for the wilderness.
