On January 25th, Alberta Wilderness Association wrote to the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation to provide feedback on the proposed changes to the Livestock Industry Diversification Act.
AWA strongly opposes the proposal to legalize elk and deer hunt farms or “Harvest Preserves”. The planned movement of farmed animals from Chronic Wasting Disease -endemic areas poses an unacceptable risk to wildlife, indigenous food security, and ecosystem health.
