Later that day, another eager group joined Lindsey Wallis and AWA Conservation Specialist Phillip Meintzer for a walk through Fish Creek. And what a productive evening it was. Despite being 20 people strong, the group was treated to an up-close view of a busy beaver swimming under the bridge we were standing on, an eagle, two deer, coyote, great blue heron, as well as numerous other birds.
The group learned about some of AWA’s work and took some time to spend quietly in their own little bubble of nature. Many of the participants at both events had not heard of AWA before, so this was a great chance to reach out to new supporters and spread the word about how important our wild places are.
