Logging to Supply Timber or Water?

In his April 2013 Wild Lands Advocate article, Nigel Douglas reviews scientific research conducted in the Kananaskis valley that identified peak streamflow increases associated with the extent of logging. In this season of severe southern Alberta floods, the water resource and stream ecology issues discussed in this article should receive careful consideration before the Alberta government promotes further clear cut logging in our sensitive Eastern slopes.
