National Park Wardens: A Community under Siege

October 31, 2012

Wildlands Advocate article, October 2012, by Becky Best-Bertwistle. Jasper National Park hosts “Warden Days” a gathering of current and retired National Park Wardens and their friends and families. This year was more of a reunion because many Parks Canada employees lost their jobs after significant cutbacks by the Harper government.

“This community is the first line of defence for National Parks; our parks are an integral part of a Canadian national identity that needs the protection these dedicated individuals provide”
