Wolf Bounty FOIP
October 19, 2011
Certain municipalities in Alberta pay a “bounty” for wolves killed within their borders, despite the fact that there is no scientific justification for doing so. Wildlife in Alberta are a public “resource” and Albertans should have a say in how they are managed. In 2011, AWA made an application under provincial Freedom of Information legislation to see correspondence behind the province’s decision to accept these bounties. This document contains the materials released under this FOIP application.
