Celebrating 50 Years of Fish Creek: A Day of Connection
On June 7, 2025, we proudly joined the 50th Anniversary celebration of Fish Creek Provincial Park. Alongside fellow environmental organizations, we arrived bright and early at 9:00 a.m. to set up our booth and prepare for a day of community engagement and conversations.
At 10:15 am, the festivities kicked off as families slowly poured into the park. We were thrilled to be part of the “passport challenge,” a fun activity that had children collecting stamps from various booths and a chance for us to give them awareness of the importance of nature and all species that inhabit it. This not only brought smiles to the kids but opened the door for meaningful conversations with parents and guardians and many other adults who joined the event. We were able to share our mission, upcoming summer programs, and invited them to support important petitions advocating for Alberta’s wildlife and wilderness.
With over 300 people stopping by, including some who were discovering our organization for the first time, the day was a success in every sense. We packed up at 3:00 pm with hearts full of renewed determination, energized by the connections made and the growing community standing up for nature.
Fish Creek’s 50th wasn’t just a celebration of the past—it was getting more engagement from the public and a hopeful look toward the future of conservation in Alberta.
