Doors 7PM | Music 7:30 PM
AWA Cottage School
455 12 Street NW Calgary

Headliner: Charlie Ewing and Bob Blair

Charlie Ewing and Bob Blair are life-long musicians who have between them performed in pretty much every imaginable kind of venue throughout Canada and beyond. As a duo they have performed in many western Canadian venues over the past several years, delighting and educating audiences with a mixture of original music, timeless classics, and an endless supply of engaging stories to lace it all together. Both are multi-instrumentalists, and if you come to one of their shows expect to hear arrangements of fine acoustic guitars well-played, pedal steel guitar, dobro, weissenborn and mandolin.

Opening Act: The Still Waters

The Still Waters (Dianne Quinton and Peter May) connect with audiences through a combination of powerful songs infused with close soulful harmonies and evocative instrumentals. Their shows include original compositions and covers rooted in folk, country and blues.

Equally comfortable in small intimate settings or large venues, The Still Waters have played at the BC Interior Provincial Exhibition, the Calgary Stampede, several venues on Calgary’s Music Mile, Little Concerts, charitable events, house concerts and private functions. Their chemistry and performances have been described as heart opening and magical.

If I were asked to illustrate a scene of utter serenity and peace, I would choose a picture of a mother grizzly wandering across flower-covered slopes with two small cubs gamboling at her heels. This is truly a part of the deep tranquility that is the wilderness hallmark.
