Clean Up Your Mess Virtual and In-Person Town Halls
October 1, 2025
AWA, as part of the Coalition for Responsible Energy (C4RE), is supporting the upcoming launch of the Clean Up Your Mess campaign.
Across Alberta, old and neglected oil and gas wells, rusting pipes, and other crumbling infrastructure threaten our land, water, and health. These sites can leak toxic gases, contaminate soil, and put wildlife and communities at risk, all while industry walks away from the cleanup bill. Now, a Government of Alberta plan designed behind closed doors would shift the cost onto everyday Albertans.
On October 2 at 7:00pm MT, join us and allies from across Alberta for a virtual town hall to discover the truth behind Alberta’s well cleanup disaster. You’ll hear from lawyers with Ecojustice, doctors with Canadian Association of Physicians for the Environment (CAPE), and other members of C4RE who are fighting for accountability and a healthier future.

On November 5, we’re gathering in Calgary with allies from across Alberta to expose the government’s drill-and-dash plan for oil and gas wells, and stop industry from leaving us with the bill, and their corrupt push for new coal mines in the Rockies, and how people like you are fighting back.
You’ll hear from leaders from both the Alberta Beyond Coal and the Clean Up Your Mess campaigns.
