Better Cumulative Effects Assessment Needed for BC Hydro’s Proposed Site C Peace River Dam

April 4, 2013

AWA comments on the adequacy of BC Hydro’s environmental impact statement for its proposed Site C Dam on the Peace River in northeastern BC. AWA calls for more rigorous cumulative effects assessment of regional habitat for wide-ranging carnivores and caribou, and of aquatic ecosystem effects downstream to the Peace-Athabasca Delta.

There is an urgent need to engage people with nature. All aspects of it. Not just the pretty bears and cute snakes. Also the realities of it, the death, struggles, and pain. Not only are people losing touch with nature, they are losing touch with the realities of nature.
