Wolf Bounty FOIP

March 9, 2013

Results from AWA Freedom of Information legislation application to Alberta government about wolf bounties in Alberta. Certain municipalities and hunting groups in Alberta pay a “bounty” for wolves killed within their borders, despite the fact that there is no scientific justification for doing so. Funding for some programs comes from a Wyoming-based hunting group, the Wild Sheep Foundation.

There is an urgent need to engage people with nature. All aspects of it. Not just the pretty bears and cute snakes. Also the realities of it, the death, struggles, and pain. Not only are people losing touch with nature, they are losing touch with the realities of nature.
