In 2004, the Black Creek Heritage Rangeland Trail Act was passed, introducing a modification to the Heritage Rangeland legislation to allow OHV access, which was banned under the existing legislation. Alberta Wilderness Association is opposed to any recreational OHV access in protected areas.
