This Saturday at 8 a.m. sharp, at least 115 competitive racers will be running 1-kilometre around the base of the Calgary Tower, and then ascending the 802 stairs to the top. And they will be chasing a rabbit...

This will mark our 10th annual Run for Wilderness, part of Alberta Wilderness Associations annual Earth Day celebration. Last year, winner Jonathan Heinz (pictured below) set the current record with a time of 7:50 minutes. He then went on to complete 31 laps of the 802 tower stairs!

Maybe some sunny weather in 2012 will make for a record breaking race?  Now, let's see who can catch that rabbit!

2011 race winner, Jonathan Heinz
