A Celebration of Wild Spaces and Wildlife in Alberta

The 23rd annual Wild West Gala is a celebration of Alberta’s Wild spaces and Wildlife. It is a tradition of friends, colleagues, members and supporters enjoying a great meal and an evening filled with entertainment, conversation, auctions and plain good fun. We have held the ticket price ($85 members, $100 non-members) at the same level for many years to enable a wide audience to join in the celebration. This event is a fundraiser for the Alberta Wilderness Association and is totally dependent on volunteers and sponsors from the Calgary area to present an evening to remember. This year's entertainment includes
   - Copper Moon, formerly HEQ, five friends that have played and performed a wide variety of music both together and separately for many years.  Each member brings to the table his own musical tastes, resulting in a pleasant blend of eclectic music including folk, country, blues and pop/rock.
   - Horizon Ridge: Craig and Dianne are singer/songwriters who have been performing individually and with others for the past 30 years. A deep love of music and a joy for performing led them to form Horizon Ridge in 2007. With diversified backgrounds ranging from blues, country, rock, east coast music and gospel, they bring an appreciation for different perspectives to the songs they perform. Tonight they perform with special guest Steve Goodchild.  Steve hails from the North-East of England and has his musical roots in the folk tradition from both sides of the Atlantic, with a repertoire ranging from traditional to contemporary and own compositions, arranged for an assortment of acoustic instruments, some of which will be complementing Horizon Ridge's guitar and keyboard foundation.
   - Kaitee Dal Pra, an independent country / folk / rock singer from Cochrane Alberta. Check out Kaitee's music on Myspace!
