Come out with the AWA to explore the wonders of this natural grassland. Sage Creek, located south of Medicine Hat, is an excellent example of a relatively untouched short grass prairie. NOTE: Originally scheduled for August 6, 2011.

Elevation Gain: minimal

Sage Creek, located near Manyberries in south-eastern Alberta, is a well-preserved mixed grass prairie environment.  In addition to the great diversity of prairie grasses and shrubs, expect to see pronghorn antelope, deer, sharptail grouse and meadowlarks.  Wander under the blue dome of the endless prairie sky and take in the many wonders of this ecosystem.

This hike is rated as Easy-to-Moderate, covering approximately 7 kilometres with minimum elevation gain.
