Alberta Wilderness Association (AWA) is dedicated to protecting wildlands, wildlife and wild waters throughout Alberta. We offer several ways to invest in Alberta wilderness and wildlife by supporting the conservation education and outreach work of AWA. Your donation will make a difference

AWA is a federally registered charity and functions through member and donor support. A receipt will be issued for each donation. All donations are put to use in the area of greatest need or in an area designated by the donor. Wall plaques recognizing donors hang at AWA’s office located in the Hillhurst Cottage School in Calgary.

General Donations

AWA offers several categories for your donation. The Provincial Office hosts wall plaques recognizing donors. AWA is a federally registered charity and functions through member and donor support.

Donate Your Car

Donate a Car Canada accepts cars for donation to AWA. Check out their website:

Monthly Donations

Monthly donors are members of our Wilderness Partners and their donations mean a great deal to our ability to plan and carry on our work. Your monthly donation can support AWA’s greatest needs or an area of special interest to you. These are some of the many benefits to monthly giving:

It’s easy and convenient because it is pre-authorized. No cheques, envelopes or stamps
It helps save administrative costs, so even more of your gift will be used to promote wilderness and wildlife conservation
It uses less paper and is more environmentally friendly
Regular donations that are automatically debited from your bank account or credit card can quickly add up to a large gift.
Monthly donors receive a receipt for their donations at the end of each calendar year

We are unable to process monthly donations over the online shop at this time. To sign up to be a monthly donor and a member of Wilderness Partners, please either:

Fill out our monthly donation form, and mail it to the address printed on the form.

Special Tributes

Celebrate by Supporting Wilderness and Wildlife in Alberta

Celebrate an anniversary, birthday, wedding, retirement or any other special occasion with a donation to the Alberta Wilderness Association. Ask your family and friends to make a donation in lieu of gifts, and let the celebration begin. Special occasion donations can be designated to a specific program or to AWA’s greatest need.

Alberta Wilderness Association will send an acknowledgement of your donation to an individual you choose. The amount of your donation will not be disclosed.

Memorial Donations

A Gift of Remembrance

It can be difficult to express sympathy for someone who has experienced the loss of a loved one. We invite you to consider a memorial donation to Alberta Wilderness Association as a fitting tribute. Individuals remembered in this way will have their names added to special plaques that hang on the walls of our office in the Hillhurst Cottage School in Calgary. Each year we publish the names of those remembered in our Wild Lands Advocate as we note the lasting tributes family and friends have made in a quest for wilderness and wildlife in Alberta.

Upon receiving your donation, Alberta Wilderness Association will send a special memorial card to the family or designated person advising them of your generous gift. The amount of your donation will not be disclosed. Your tax receipt will be sent by mail.
